Every Star Trek Film & TV Show Ranked From Worst To Best
6. Star Trek: Lower Decks (2020-Present)
Now, let's talk about the most underrated Star Trek show, Lower Decks.
As the first Trek cartoon since The Animated series ended in 1974, Star Trek: Lower Decks fully embraces the format of animation to tell stories way crazier than we could see in live action. Beyond this, Lower Decks is a comedy at heart, and makes fun of nearly every trope in Star Trek. Seeing life aboard a Starfleet ship from the perspective of the low-ranking officers gives new insight into the universe as we watch them react to all of the crazy scenarios the bridge crew get them into.
Lower Decks is far more episodic than other currently running Trek shows, which is a nice change. Still though, through the series we get to see characters like Mariner and Boimler learn and grow into capable Starfleet officers, all while having a few laughs along the way.
Appearances from classic Trek aliens and incredibly creative storylines make Star Trek: Lower Decks one of the best things to come from the franchise in a while.
