16. Star Trek: Nemesis (2002)

Star Trek Seven And Janeway
Paramount Pictures

The final Next Generation film, Nemesis, says farewell to Picard and the rest of the crew in the most uneventful way. We are very lucky to have Star Trek: Picard nowadays to address some of the unfinished stories from The Next Generation, because for a while, Nemesis was going to be the last time the crew would be seen on screen.

Data was killed very abruptly, but in a way that feels true to his character. He saved the Enterprise with his sacrifice. It's unfortunate that we had to wait until 2020 (18 years) to see Jean-Luc dealing with this loss in Star Trek: Picard.

The villain, Shinzon, a clone of Picard, is interesting, as we get to see what Jean-Luc may have been like if he were not given the same opportunities in life, but Shinzon doesn't really come across as very maniacal in the movie, more creepy and whiny. The movie should've focused more on the story behind Data's brother, B-4, and given Picard, Data, and the rest of the crew a more satisfying end to their adventures on the Enterprise.
