Every Umbrella Academy Episode Ranked Worst To Best
19. Run Boy Run (S1E2)
After episode one introduced the premise of the show and its main characters, episode two could have launched into the over-arcing story of the oncoming apocalypse. However, it opened with a bit more exposition from 5, and continued to focus on character development rather than furthering the story.
Despite introducing even more characters, in the form of Detective Patch, Leonard, Hazel, and Cha-Cha, the second episode of the series still managed to dig deeper into the characters of the Academy and their histories with each other.
The family were split from the one group of six, allowing more personal relationships to be dissected. Luther and Diego, Klaus and 5, and Allison and Vanya were all given time together, and it was solid. Again, there wasn't a huge deal of action until the fun fight sequence at the end, which was followed by the harrowing glimpse into the family's future demise to keep the audience hooked even more.
