Doctor Who: EVERY Version Of The Cybermen Explained

Manufactured on a global scale by his company Cybus Industries, John Lumic’s Cybermen were merely human brains dropped into metal suits.

Adopting an Art Deco aesthetic, they were more muscular than their predecessors and bore the Cybus Industries logo on their chests.

Cybus Cybermen “deleted” anyone who wasn’t suitable for conversion, initially by electrocuting them with their hands.

Later units were equipped with arm blasters, while others used guns originally belonging to anti-Cybus resistance group the Preachers.

The Doctor brought down the original Cybus Cybermen by disabling their emotional inhibitions. However, some survived, and crossed through the Void to our world disguised as ghosts.

Also breaking through were the Daleks, who rejected the Cybermen’s offer of an alliance, resulting in the explosive Battle of Canary Wharf.

In the end, the Doctor managed to suck both sides back into the Void. But some Cybus Cybermen subsequently escaped to Victorian London.

Others were part of the Pandorica Alliance, with one particularly dilapidated unit (complete with detachable body parts and a human skull, rather than just the brain) acting as the Pandorica’s sentry.

The last sighting of Cybus Cybermen was in the far future, on Hedgewick’s World, where two were on display in Webley’s World of Wonders.
