Falcon & The Winter Soldier: 10 Biggest Problems
7. Forgettable Action Scenes
Once again, considering the high budget, you'd expect this to have far stronger action scenes. Unfortunately, the majority of the set-pieces throughout this series are flawed and forgettable.
In particular, the Falcon set-piece that opens the first episode, New World Order, is an incomprehensible mess in which it's impossible to work out what is actually going on, and although none of the show's other set-pieces are nearly as problematic at that one, they're nothing to write home about.
Many are perfectly OK, but not much more than that and a combination of factors - namely, flat choreography, low stakes and the aforementioned terrible editing - prevent them from hitting hard. The final set-piece in the series finale, One World, One People, was better in fairness, but still not outstanding.
Considering the largely awe-inspiring action sequences in all three of the solo Captain America films beforehand, not to mention the rest of the MCU, this does all feel rather vanilla in comparison, and it's hard to see what the show's enormous budget was spent on.
