James Woods has played himself numerous times over the years on Family Guy. Who doesn't love the whole "ooh a piece of candy" routine? The fact that Woods - an actor far removed from Family Guy's core fanbase - would become such a popular guest star shows that it's not who the celebrities are, but how they're used, when it comes to Family Guy. Woods plays a fictionalized, ego-maniacal, devious version of himself, always screwing over Peter and company in some way. However, his most recent appearance on the show, while short, came on this year's The Simpsons Guy, where both his Family Guy and Simpsons version are shown (Woods guest starred as himself in Season Five's "Homer and Apu" on The Simpsons). That makes him one of the few celebs to have turned up on both shows, and lets us yell "Simpsons did it!" one more time. Family Guy did it better however.
