Executive producer Steve Callaghan spoke out about the decision behind killing off Brian recently, and may have inadvertently given viewers hope that the talking hound can still be spared. Here's
what he said:
As soon as this idea came up , we started talking about what the next couple episodes could be and we got very excited about the way this change will affect the family dynamics of the characters.
Attentive readers of Comicbook.com noted that Callaghan used the words "next couple of episodes", potentially suggesting Brian's death isn't a permanent deal. In all likelihood, Callaghan was probably just referring to the transitional period the Griffins and other residents of Quahog are set to go through in the wake of Brian's demise, but more optimistic fans choose to believe that Brian may yet make a 'second coming' to Spooner St.
