Family Guy: 50 Best Episodes

45. Family Gay

Family Guy 45Season: 7 Episode: 8 Original Air Date: March 8th, 2009 The writing staff for Family Guy has never been afraid to push the envelope of good taste, and often find themselves going way over the line. It's what FG viewers have come to expect, and it's what they love. In this episode, many feel that line was clearly visible, and it was danced upon. Finding himself facing some serious debt issues, Peter agrees to undergo medical tests and experiments, and they would eventually turn him homosexual. For the majority of the rest of the episode, Peter becomes every single over-the-top stereotype of a flamboyant homosexual man that you can think of, with all of the expected hilarious results. The entire plot of the episode is actually downright dumb when you stop and think about it, but because the writers on the show are so skilled at what they do (whether you think that skill has eroded or not) that it really didn't matter much, because they provided laugh after laugh. What Peter is doing when his "homosexuality gene" begins to wear off is the icing on the cake here, and provides for great hilarity.
