Family Guy: Every 'Road To' Episode Ranked Worst To Best
7. Road To Rupert
The third installment in the ‘Road to’ series, coming in season five, had a lot to live up to after two brilliant episodes. Unfortunately, this one fell some way short of what had come before it.
After Brian accidentally sold Rupert to a neighbour who was moving across the country, he and Stewie took an adventure to Aspen, Colorado to get him back. It ended in a skiing contest that Stewie ultimately lost, but it didn’t matter in the end as he just stole his best friend back anyway.
Like 'Road to India', Road to Rupert featured a B story in which Meg had to drive Peter around, and it almost outshined the main story. Needless to say, this isn’t what you want from a Brian and Stewie adventure, but it did just feel like it was lacking. It was almost uninspired and kind of generic in terms of Family Guy episodes.
Though the later ‘Road to’ episodes don’t all feature the jaunty tunes that went so far to making the episode format so popular to begin with, this episode instead featured a Gene Kelly and Stewie dance number that just didn’t hit the same as a big musical number would have.
