Fargo: 12 WTF Moments From The Season 2 Premiere 'Waiting For Dutch'

5. Conspiracy Theories And Bingo

To unwind from investigating three murders, Lou takes himself down to the local watering hole where it's bingo night. Once again, the way the scenes play off against each other is great, but that's not the strangest part. Here we're introduced to Karl Weathers (played by Parks&Rec star Nick Offerman), who it turns out is something of a conspiracy nut. So while Lou is saying it looks like a robbery that went horribly wrong, Karl is bringing up the Kennedy assassination, the girl in the dress, and Watergate. It helps to establish the era of the show, the lingering remains of conspiracy nuts and paranoia at the end of the 70s, and gives us a goo introduction into Karl, who may well be something of a scene-stealer in episodes to come. And it's all played out to the backdrop of the bingo. Now, if Karl and The Big Lebowski's Walter could get into a room, then you'd have a TV show!
