Fargo: 12 WTF Moments From The Season 2 Premiere 'Waiting For Dutch'

6. How€™s Betsy?

After the murders at the Waffle Hut (and more on those later), it's up to Lou Solverson and Sheriff Hank Larsson (Ted Danson!) to investigate. It's a grisly murder scene, so you'd expect it to be a pretty sombre and serious affair. Then you remember this is Fargo. Rather than talking about police work and the murders, the scene of them looking over the bodies is juxtaposed with a conversation about Lou's marriage to Betsy, who just so happens to be Hank's daughter. All is not well in their life, with Betsy suffering from cancer, so it's understandable he'd have concern, but he picks his moments. There are dead bodies all over the place, and Hank is trying to get Lou to open up about his feelings. The clash of the conversation and the setting is another of those smaller moments that catches you slightly off guard, but works really well. Seriously Lou, how's Betsy?
