Fear The Walking Dead: 10 Mistakes The Show Can't Afford

6. Make Every Scene Count

Leading directly on from that point, not only must the dialogue be inch-perfect, but the actual show must be a condensed version of TWD without losing any of the drama. Simply producing a scaled down version of the show wouldn't work. Fear has six episodes to impress in its debut season, and not a single scene can be wasted. TWD lost a great deal of momentum on the road to Terminus in Season 4, wandering through the forest, trudging along the same train tracks episode after episode. Fans simply don't want to see that again, and Fear hasn't got any time to waste. There doesn't need to be a zombie mauling or wild chase in every scene, but slower scenes must have a point, and ultimately the pay-off must be worthwhile.
