4. Nick
After just losing Madison in the stadium fire (even though we never saw the body!), the Clark siblings continue marching on. They expand their group with John Dorie, Al and Morgan in the hopes of starting a new community.
Nick journeys out to try and find Charlie, a girl whom Madison and Nick had met beforehand and offered safety back at the stadium. Endangering Morgan and himself, he wades out into a field of bluebonnet flowers and reminisces about his time with his recently departed mother in form of flashbacks. The whole episode featured quite an innovative greyed filter throughout the scenes, highlighting the piercing blue from the flowers.
Suddenly, during a rare moment of clarity, Nick is shot point-blank in the chest. The camera turns to reveal that the shooter was actually Charlie. We see Strand, Alicia and Luciana come to Nick's side in his last moments to deliver a heavily emotional sequence before leaving his sister to be the last remaining Clark family member alive.
Perhaps it was the timing in the season or the importance of the character, but fans can agree that Nick Clark's time was way too soon.
