A comparison that's intriguing and apposite. The main Walking Dead show might be the one that's about warfare in the dirtiest, grimmest, most survival-centric way possible but it's Fear The Walking Dead that's going to really be about people. Specifically, it's about family, and the ways that the boundaries and limits of that bond are tested in exceptional circumstances. Especially considering the amount of drama on the table as it is, with stepfather Travis not being totally accepted by his new spouse's kids, who have enough issues on their plates anyway. That's only going to get worse when you through the burgeoning rising of the undead into the mix. "I will say that this is going to be a show about family," Kirkman said. "But it's going to be a show about a different type of family that we haven't explored in The Walking Dead thus far." Family has played a role in The Walking Dead, but mainly it's been Rick and Carl Grimes, and how their relationship evolves in a group that's very much not a family. Fear The Walking Dead, meanwhile? Apparently, it's going to be like Family Ties, except people are routinely eaten alive. Family Dies, perhaps....
