The Flash: 10 Hints At What's To Come

4. Professor Zoom's Time Crimes

It's obvious that, besides everything else fantastical happening in The Flash, one of the bigger scientific breakthroughs being kept under wraps at STAR Labs is some sort of time machine. Or reality warping capabilities. Or whatever it is that allows Harrison Wells - who, shock horror, doesn't really need that wheelchair! - to have a newspaper from the future, along with the knowledge that at some point Barry will become a renowned superhero and take on the title of The Flash. He's just the "streak" so far, which doesn't sound anywhere near as awesome. Bit gross, actually. That's because Wells is, in actuality, the supervillain Professor Zoom, or Reverse-Flash...or is he? It looks like that's the set up - that he'll be the "man in the lightning" who actually killed Barry's mum, and has been manipulating his entire life so far - but then there's Eddie Thawne, the detective currently dating Iris West. That's the comic book name of Zoom, but is that just a misdirect, or is Thawne somehow in chaoots with Wells? Either way, on-set photos show that the Reverse-Flash costume will appear at some point, along with some answers about the childhood trauma that made Barry the man he is today.
