If the time travel thing really does come to pass, that opens the door for a whole host of other comic book weirdness to show up on The Flash. Maybe not weirder than a hyper-intelligent talking gorilla who wants to eradicate humanity, but not far off. Whilst Iris West seems like a pretty grounded character so far - bit of a daddy's girl, working at a coffee shop, attending university, hiding her boyfriend - in the source material she's actually a transplant from the 30th Century, sent back specifically to hook up with The Flash. That would be quite a twist - saying a lot, considering some of the third act shockers the show has sprung on audiences so far. It could, however, explain a possible future appearance by Wally West, the eventual son of Barry and Iris who takes up The Flash mantle when his dad, erm, disappears from existence for a brief period. Wally patrolled not Central but Keystone City, which has already been mentioned briefly on the show. Could Wally pop back from the future to help with all this Wells business...?
