2. Eddie Will Become Reverse Flash
There's still a lot of in-series mystery over the true identity of Reverse-Flash, who seems geared to be the 'big bad' of the series (despite Captain Cold's best efforts with the Rogues when that comes around). In fact, with Harrison Wells having the yellow suit hidden in his secret room, there's a question over whether there's actually anyone in there at all. There was a robot Reverse-Flash at one point in the comics, but that fought Jay Garrick, not Barry Allen. Still, there's going to be a reason why the man in yellow left Eddie Thawne alive after the police trap to catch the speedster failed. It's a mystery that Eddie even alluded to himself, asking the question straight after the confrontation. This suggestst that Eddie is mixed up with the Reverse-Flash in some way. Some way that we're going to find out soon enough. In the comics, the main identity of Reverse-Flash is Professor Eobard Thawne, aka Professor Zoom, a fan of Barry Allen's from thefuture. While this is a significantly different backstory to the Eddie of the show and seems to fit Wells more than Eddie, it wouldn't be the first time that the DC TV universe has changed villains about, and the similarity in name alone makes Eddie a candidate for the identity of the Flash's arch-nemesis. The suggestions that Reverse-Flash is from the future, coupled with the fact that he leasves Eddie alive suggests that Eddie may well actually be the past version of the villain. As a result, the man in yellow can't do anything to harm him in case they compromise their own existence. Eddie turning villainous would also lead to a really interesting and enjoyable character arc, as well as providing a number of twists for the overall story, which would keep viewers engaged and prevent things from becoming too predictable.
