If there's one thing people love in their Universe connected characters, it's crossovers. Even shows like CSI would link their New York, Miami, and Vegas-based casts from time to time. It was always to the great excitement of the audience for being given the privilege to watch characters they love form different shows work together. Marc Guggenheim has expressly stated how excited he is to be creating a share DCTVU which creates for endless possibilities. Since Marvel's Cinematic Universe has done it so well and to great success, it should be no wonder that DC would want to capitalise on that market not just on the big screen but the small screen as well. Having The Flash work alongside Green Arrow to take down a common enemy is enough to make any fan giddy. That coupled with the idea of other heroes whose guest appearances could help form some sort of super team is the stuff of dreams. If The Flash show embraces its role as a key player in the introduction of the metaphysical aspects of the DCTVU then both its success as a popular TV and an important superhero who deserves recognition will forever be sealed in the pop culture history books.
