The Flash Trailer: 8 Things It Told Us

1. The Suit Looks Awesome

Since the first promotional image of Grant Gustin in costume came out, fans couldn€™t help but get excited over the series and how well the suit alone looks. Designed by Academy Award-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, The Flash€™s costume looks more fitting for a big screen adventure rather than a television series. This only speaks to the level of dedication and passion the team behind The Flash have for the character, as they really are doing whatever they can to faithfully bring him to life. The only question was how this suit would look in motion on the small screen and if this trailer is any indication they€™ve done a marvelous job with it. Not only is the suit itself ripped from the comic book, but so does the way it moves, crackling with red and yellow energy. It's incredibly pleasing to see it translated that well and is far better than any superhero costume that has appeared on television before. In fact, the only other direct comic to screen costume which comes close to topping Flash€™s is Deathstroke€™s design in Arrow. It is also very obvious that the inspiration for Flash€™s suit comes from The New 52, showing off more armoured or technical designs than the older, fabric-based iteration. While this may bother some fans, its undeniable the costume looks well crafted as well as providing a somewhat realistic reason for how the suit is able to stay intact at Flash€™s insane speeds. Though The Flash has yet to be announced as one of the heroes appearing in the upcoming Justice League film, it's likely he will be a part of the line up entirely because it's going to be hard for the filmmakers to top The Flash€™s TV show suit in terms of design and functionality.
