2. Season Seven
Friends' seventh season manages to balance every aspect of the sit-com, from the wonderfully funny to the deeply moving. This is the season where Chandler and Monica get married; the season where the gang turn thirty; and the season where they can't get to sleep.
The comedy elements of this season are best in play with episodes like "The One with the Nap Partners", "The One with All the Cheesecakes", and "The One where Rosita Dies." Each episode gives the gang a chance to work off one another and deliver some seriously quotable lines. We also get an hysterical appearance from Gary Oldman, who works wonders opposite Joey, showing just how funny and self-aware the show can be.
Outside of the brilliant comedy, the emotional side of the show is showcased with ease thanks to the Chandler/Monica wedding arc and the revelation that Rachel is pregnant, a big reveal laying the groundwork for the next season.
Within all of this is a brilliant performance from Matthew Perry, Courtney Cox and Jennifer Aniston, who are all forced to balance the hilarity and the drama of their respected storylines. All of this makes Season Seven the pinnacle of what Friends has to offer.
