Friends: Rachel's Boyfriends Ranked!

Paolo was so obviously a romantic obstacle, making it hard to think of him as a real boyfriend to Rachel. He came along and showed her a somewhat good time, but the pair had very little chemistry, and every viewer knew the clock was ticking on their time together.

This character was introduced in the episode "The One With The Blackout" and met Rachel after she found his missing cat. The pair had an instant attraction to one another, and they began dating, but it was pretty clear from the offset that it was nothing but a passing fling.

Paolo couldn't speak a lot of English, which meant the two couldn't connect on a personal level. Thanks to this, their relationship became nothing but (in Rachel's own words) "meaningless animal sex".

In the end, the character ended up becoming a mere footnote in her dating history, as he was bland, one-note, and never felt like a legitimate contender for her affection. Plus, he tried to get it on with Phoebe in a very inappropriate massage scene, so there's also that.
