This is where things start to get a little tricky.

The relationship between Danny and Rachel is proof that the phrase "first impressions count" doesn't tell the whole story. When Rachel first came into contact with Danny, it was through fogging him with bug spray after believing him to be a Yeti, thanks to his overgrown hair. Wow, what a meet-cute.

After getting a much-needed trim, Rachel found herself attracted to him, leading to a dispute between the two as he thought she was shallow. Eventually, they got over this and started dating. Overall, their relationship was awkward but functional until the end.

One of the issues with Danny is that even when he was treating Rachel right, there was a strange sense of unlikability to him. Everything he said felt condescending and peculiar, even though he was accommodating and caring.

In one of the show's stranger moments, the relationship ended after Rachel became uncomfortable with his incredibly close, almost incestuous, relationship with his sister. It was quite a way to put out the fire of their romantic entanglement.
