Futurama: 10 Most Annoying Little Inconsistencies

2. Nibbler's Plan

Fry Leela Kiss Ending Futurama
20th Television

Time travel almost became such a common thing in Futurama, with retcons happening just about every time, it’s become difficult to properly keep track of the series timeline. One being whose story has suffered is Nibbler.

The high-ranking fuzzler was alive back in the year 2000, and flew to Earth in order to ensure Fry’s fall into the freezer tube. Only he would be able to defeat the gigantic brains in a thousand years' time. As part of the deal when speaking to Fry, Nibbler offered to transfer from Vergon 6 to Earth to offer his help. However, this is absolutely not what happened.

Nibbler had no real say in being taken to Earth, he was instead just picked up by Leela during a mission and taken home as a pet. This was shown in just the fourth episode of the series, and was again explained during 'Bender’s Game'.

When the rest of the Nibblonians abandoned Vergon 6 due to the planet imploding, Nibbler was left behind. Had it not been for Leela and co, he would have been stranded and left for dead. The fact that he went to Earth with Fry was utterly coincidence rather than meticulously planned as was suggested.
