Futurama: 10 Most Paused Moments
8. Superdupersymetric String Theory (Mars University)
OK, I've had a good long cry in the shower and I'm ready to move on to the next paused moment the episode Mars University. This episode has a few pause-worthy moments but the best one is when we take the moment to gaze upon Professor Farnsworth's genius during his lecture.
In this episode (season 2 episode 2), Fry attends Mars university but discovers he is being outclassed and outsmarted by Professor Farnsworth's microchip-hat-wearing monkey Guenter. Despite being a genius, Guenter is deeply unhappy with his life and runs away. When the crew set off to find him and end up in danger, Guenter swings in to rescue them but damages his hat leaving him at a content level of mediocrity.
When we paused: Professor Farnsworth's lecture on Superdupersymetric String Theory is something to behold. It consists of a drawing of what looks like a balloon animal in a wooly jumper titled Witten's Dog, a Neutron encrusted with dark matter and what it apparently tastes like. It's completely random, but who knows. Maybe our future children will be studying it 1000 years in the future (10:26 in the original episode).
