When Fry had his heart broken by being unable to accept the fact that Colleen had four other boyfriends living with her, he headed into space to the giant anomaly. He didn’t know what would be welcoming him on the other side, but he certainly wouldn’t have expected to find love.

In Yivo, a huge tentacle monster the size of a planet, Fry thought he had found a soulmate. It may not have been the romance everyone expected, but he loved the tentacle and it loved him. Of course that wasn’t the case however, as he was merely a victim of severe brainwashing.

Before this realisation however, Fry went on something of a rampage to force people across the universe into this new cult. He called it a religion, but it was a cult. His victims had no say in the matter, and immediately lost their free will in place of being controlled by an alien with a lot of tentacles.

In just his first week he managed to turn 90% of world leaders into slaves, and wouldn’t have rested until the entire universe was under the spell of Yivo. If it wasn’t for Leela’s perseverance, Fry would have doomed every living, organic creature to a life of slavery.
