7. Fry, Bender, And Leela Discovered Popplers
After having their entire food supply emptied by the Planet of the Moochers, Fry, Bender, and Leela found themselves in the middle of nowhere with no food. Fortunately, they were able to land on a nearby Type M planet, and quickly found what they thought to be either be a ditch full of fried shrimp, or a hole full of fried prawns.
Soon after tasting them, they didn't care what they were. The delicious little morsels of food were incredibly tasty, so they packed the ship and headed home where they soon became the latest craze thanks to the distribution of Fishy Joe's. Think Walter White's meth, but with a mysterious food in the future.
The problem for which the episode takes its name however, is that the new discovery called Popplers weren't a harmless snack at all, they were Omicronian young. The entire planet devoured live infant aliens, thanks to the Planet Express crew.
Leela may have tried to right her wrong once she found out what they were, but that didn't stop the people of Earth eating 198 billion Omicronian babies. This led to Lrrr wanting to eat 198 billion humans in recompense, and after accepting that there weren't that many humans, it was just Leela he wanted to eat. It was only Jrrr's intervention, one of the Popplers themselves, that saved the mutant's life.
