Futurama: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best

3. Season Two

Futurama season 7
Fox

If season one set Futurama up for greatness, then season two is the moment it realised its potential and went all in. With a bigger scope, more focus on the rest of the colourful Planet Express crew and some of the show's most classic adventures, season two is Futurama finally having found its footing and the confidence it needed to pull of the show's grand themes.

With episodes like the Titanic rip-off "A Flight to Remember" and the Bender-centric "I Second that Emotion," the show officially cemented itself as the next big thing. Also, with episodes like the hysterical and wonderfully strange "Why Must I Be a Crustacean" and "Put Your Head on My Shoulders," previously sidelined characters like Zoidberg and Amy were finally given a moment in the spotlight.

Season two is let down in the end by a being almost full-comedy, not yet leaning into the show's more mature and thoughtful themes that would come with the next two seasons. Still, when the humour is this good, we can let it off for such a small bump.

Best episodes: A Flight to Remember, Bender Gets Made, I Second that Emotion, Anthology of Interest
