Game Of Thrones: 10 Best Characters Who Appeared After Season One
8. Davos Seaworth
Every person vying for the throne needs a good number two to be their voice of reason. Stannis Baratheon was lucky enough to get the salt of the Earth everyman known as Davos Seaworth, who played his role of advisor fantastically, even if his military victories didn't come by the bucket-load.
The character - also known as The Onion Knight - was a smuggler who became Stannis Baratheon's Hand of the King, before eventually outliving him and joining forces with Jon. Towards the end of the series, he found a seat on the small council under, (sigh) Brandon Stark.
Part of what made Davos so likeable was his relatability. He was a common man with no taste for fine things, but always a hard worker who was dedicated to his lot. Seeing him help the likes of Stannis and Jon Snow proved that he wasn't a selfish person looking for personal glory, rather a good honest man who fought for those he believed in.
In a world like Westeros, that kind of humility is a rarity, so it's no wonder people liked the character so much.
