After six long seasons on the wrong side of the Narrow Sea, season seven saw Daenerys Targaryen finally return to Westeros. While she landed at Dragonstone in episode one, it wasn't until episode four that she touched ground on the mainland of her home country, in what was one of the most devastatingly one sided battle sequences in the show.

While the pacing of 'The Spoils of War' is problematic, with Tyrion making the trip from Dragonstone to Highgarden and back within the space of one episode, the sight of Drogon and an army of Dothraki screamers charging over the horizon is enough to make you forget about any complaints like that.

This was a big day for the Lannister men as well as the Mother of Dragons. Tyrion laid eyes on his older brother for the first time since he escaped the dungeons of King's Landing, while Jaime himself, in a flood of unparalleled bravery, charged directly into the fire of a living dragon with the hopes of killing Dany and ending the war in an instant.

After the battle was said and done, the audience was still unable to relax as Daenerys showed just how ruthless she could be as a leader, burning Randyll and Dickon Tarly where they stood.
