Game Of Thrones: 10 Biggest Anti-Climaxes

7. The Red Comet

The Red Comet was such a clever device in the books. It was the one constant between all of the characters, wherever they were in the world, they could see it. The comet caused massive speculation, paid heed to prophecies, foreshadowed potential events, and everyone (characters and readers alike) had their own theories on what it could mean. In the show it is seen and discussed briefly, but barely anything is made of it. And without any sort of warning, the comet quietly slid out of the show. Everyone eagerly awaited its re-appearance, but it never came. The Red Comet simply vanished and no significance ever really came of it. Of course, the show followed the book on that storyline, but on the screen - without source material knowledge - it just seemed like a big anti-climax considering the theories put forward.
