Game Of Thrones: 12 Greatest Anti-Heroes In Westeros
9. Tywin Lannister
Curveball alert. Tywin Lannister is an anti-hero. There might not be many people who agree with Tywin's inclusion, but hear the evidence and judge for yourself. Tywin's interest lay with his family, like every other Lord in the Seven Kingdoms. Every decision he made was for the good of his family. He wasn't cruel for the sake of being cruel, he just played the game of war.
Everything Tywin did, he thought was the right thing to do including events that happened long before the TV series began. Tywin waited out at Casterly Rock as Robert's Rebellion got underway, eyeing up the best option for his family. Once Robert smashed Rhaegar, Tywin swung into action and aided the Baratheon and Stark's cause. He even justified the Red Wedding with a book quote saying: "Explain to me why it's more noble to kill ten thousand men in battle than a dozen at dinner." The point is valid. To some he'll be a phenomenal villain, though others will see him as an anti-hero.
