Game Of Thrones: 10 Lesser Known Fan Theories That Might Actually Be True
1. Ned Stark Is Still Alive
Yes the most awe-inspiring scene that had your heart in a million-and-five pieces back in Season 1 seems to have all been a sham, a folly, a load of hogwash – or so this theory claims.
Yes, in the show you saw Ned’s head part from his body, but the scene is never really “seen” in the book. The scene was told from Arya’s point of view and as soon as it happened, Yoren pulled Arya close and told her not to look. So essentially, we never actually see Ned die.
Making this theory even more possible is the fact that when Arya listens to her father confess his treason, she thinks that it “didn’t sound like her father’s voice at all. The voice was low and far away” and when she watched Ned kneel before Joffrey, the book describes him as not looking like himself at all, “the man kneeling before the king was thin, wasted, and not like Eddard Stark at all”.
So if it wasn’t Eddard Stark, who was it? Some believe the man who took Ned’s part in the execution could be none other than Syrio Forel…
But, more importantly, where has Ned been while his wife and children have died or gone missing? Surely a noble man like him wouldn’t just let stuff like that go.
