Game Of Thrones: 10 Most Powerful Characters Going Into Season 7

8. Thoros Of Myr

One of the difficulties in ranking powerful characters in Game of Thrones is that there are so many different kinds of power, and it's relative as to which one is worth more. There's the power of a house, either through its storied history, alleigances, or military might; the power of a general or person in charge of an army or other force; and sheer power in combat, such as the seemingly unstoppable might of Gregor Clegane.

Finally, there's magic power. It's harder to quantify because we don't yet know the full extent of it, but being able to tap into the power of the Red God and bring someone back from the dead - multiple times - surely makes someone a hugely powerful character.

And thus we have Thoros of Myr, who has played little part on the show in recent years, but re-emerged last year and should have a bigger role in Season 7. Thoros might say that he doesn't have power, but just asks the Lord of Light for favours. However he wants to spin it, there's no denying Thoros - who is also a fine warrior - is hugely powerful, even if he doesn't wield it in a way that massively influences Westeros politics.
