Game Of Thrones: 10 Most Powerful Characters Going Into Season 7

3. Cersei Lannister

Game Of Thrones Night King Daenerys
HBO

After spending so much of her life around the Iron Throne, be it as wife or mother, Cersei Lannister finally took it for herself. The discussion over whether or not she is the rightful ruler doesn't really matter too much at this stage - though will no doubt be brought into question when Daenerys arrives - since, well, Robert Baratheon took the Throne by force anyway, and no one seems to be stopping Cersei.

She'll no doubt get her comeuppance by the end of Season 7, but until then she is the Queen of the Andals and the First Men and all that jazz, which automatically installs her in a position of real (if diminishing) power.

The Lannister army doesn't possess the same might it did under Tywin, and is increasingly lacking in allies, but it's nonetheless a formidable force still. Plus she has the walls of King's Landing, the City Watch, possibly a fair bit of wildfire, and of course the Mountain to help protect her / do her bidding (read: killing), which puts her in a position of considerable strength.

A potential marriage would only strengthen this, with (as mentioned) Euron a potentially great match: two great houses, he gets real power in Westeros, she takes command of an incredible fleet, and you have two insane and powerful rulers for the price of one.
