Game Of Thrones: 10 Most Underrated Heroes
1. Yoren
A straight-talking man of the Night's Watch, Yoren took no nonsense but unfortunately left our screens very early on.
He was a recruiter for the Crows and fiercely loyal to his comrades. We first meet him in season one, as he strikes up a close bond with Tyrion. They travel south together until Tyrion is taken captive by Catelyn.
Whilst in Kings Landing, Yoren witnesses the execution of Ned Stark. He immediately covers Arya's eyes and sets about rescuing her. In an act of genius, he cuts off her hair and tells her to act as a male prisoner. Thus, saving her life and gaining a solid recruit for the Watch.
On the road north, we learn the sad story of his life. He joined the Crow's after justifiably killing his brother’s murderer. Westeros can be a cruel place.
It is on this journey that Yoren meets his end. Like all great warriors, he died fighting honourably, with a sword in his hand. A hero till the end, he refused to give up Gendry and died after slaughtering a few Lannisters.
RIP Yoren, you will not be forgotten.
