Game Of Thrones: 10 Most Underrated Heroes
8. Qhorin Halfhand
A legendary hero of the Night's Watch and a man you probably all forgot: Qhorin Halfhand.
Firstly, the story behind his name is pretty cool. He lost most of the fingers on his right hand during a fight with a wildling. He trained his weaker left hand to be as proficient as his right and the name half-hand was born.
Prior to the first episode, Qhorin had spent the entire winter north of the Wall, a feat only managed by true battle-hardened warriors. He is a well-respected ranger of the Night's Watch but his time on screen was far too short.
The greatest act we see from Qhorin is when he sacrifices himself to save Jon. It is his final act on behalf of the Watch. He hopes that his death, at the hands of Jon, will help infiltrate the Wildlings. An act of great significance, once we learned the importance of Jon. His final words sum him up entirely, "We are the watchers of the Wall". A true man of honour.
If you still doubt his prestige, see this quote from Mance Rayder: "Up here, mothers tell their sons, if you're not good, the Halfhand will get you. He was our enemy, and I'm glad he's dead."
