Game Of Thrones: 10 Most Underrated Heroes
3. Yara Greyjoy
Yara Greyjoy turned out to be one of the
best characters in the show. A sentence no-one would have believed possible
after her grim arrival in season two.
Like all Greyjoys, Yara was a bit rough around the edges. She looked dirty and smelly but that was the norm on the Iron Islands. As Theon was sent to Winterfell at such a young age, Yara in essence became heir presumptive. She won over her father due to her incredible militaristic capabilities and natural leadership skills. Granted, the outshining of Theon is an easy feat but a feat, nonetheless.
She commands a loyal following of men upon her ship and bravely rescues her brother from the grasps of Ramsay Bolton. Until he refuses to leave of course. Ruthless as the Ironborn are supposed to be, she pronounces him dead afterwards.
Ruling in a male dominated world is difficult but Yara makes it look easy. Her bid to become Queen of the Iron Islands is initially halted by Euron. After his death she takes her rightful place as the ruler of the Ironborn.
It is a well-deserved title, and she is the first woman to do so.
