Game Of Thrones: 10 Reasons Why A Prequel Series Would Be Awesome

6. Sow The Seeds

Very little of the plot of Game of Thrones can be justly deemed filler. With so much material and so many characters to fit into only ten episodes per season, there's not much room for waste in any given hour. Major plots can be introduced, dealt with, and dismissed within the space of a single episode. A lot happens very quickly and often unexpectedly; as such, audiences must learn pretty quickly to just roll with the twists and try not to forget everybody's names. A prequel series would give producers the chance to expand on the quick twists by sowing the seeds for major arcs that have already unfolded. Brandon Stark could shame Littlefinger away from Catelyn Tully. Aerys Targaryen could enact his madness on the court. Dany could be born in a storm. The Lannister twins could flirt outrageously before both were ruined by their post-Rebellion lots in life. Robert could discard Cersei in favor of the memory of Lyanna. The exposition dumps of the parent show could come to life in a look at this era of the saga, and it would be awesome.
