Game Of Thrones: 10 Reasons Why A Prequel Series Would Be Awesome
7. The Good Guys Win
Game of Thrones is not Lord of the Rings or Star Wars or even The Walking Dead. There's no black and white morality separating a vast chasm between the pure of heart and the rotten to the core. The good must do bad things in order to survive in the grey world of Westeros. Frustrating as it is at times, the moral ambiguity of the show is one of its most intriguing qualities, and the possibility that maybe one of the less condemnable characters might actually come out on top in the end has been enough to bring audiences back over and over again. The odds have thus far favored the incest, rape, and murder crowds, but the show's not over yet. It's still worth hoping that a Stark survives the saga and Daenerys makes it to Westeros and Ramsay Bolton gets eaten by his own dogs. With a prequel series, however, hope doesn't need to play a part. The good guys win the day. Granted, as Lyanna Stark did die, the Targaryen line was destroyed, and the Iron Throne was usurped by men who hadn't wanted to rule, the win was bittersweet at best. None of the victors ended up with their preferred spoils, and the heroes would be forever haunted by the war, but the good guys still won. If that doesn't give hope for Game of Thrones, nothing will.
Fiction buff and writer. If it's on Netflix, it's probably in my queue. I've bought DVDs for the special features and usually claim that the book is better than the movie or show (and can provide examples). I've never met a TV show that I won't marathon. Follow on Twitter @lah9891 .
