Game Of Thrones: 10 Things We Already Know About Season 6

1. Arthur Dayne & The Tower Of Joy

The Tower of Joy is one of the most fascinating and important stories from the past, and one that has been curiously absent from the television show. Essentially it involves Ned Stark€™s attempt to reclaim his sister Lyanna from Rhaegar Targaryen, whom he hid in the Tower of Joy. There he comes face to face with three members of the Kingsguard, the most notable of which is Ser Arthur Dayne, one of the greatest knights to ever live. After a huge fight that only Ned and his friend Howland Reed survive, he finally reaches Lyanna as she is dying in a bed of blood. After much disappointment that this past event hasn€™t been presented on the show, it is looking very likely that it will finally appear next season. The show is currently looking for a great swordsman to play a legendary fighter described as a €œparagon of knighthood€ who carries a legendary sword on his back. For book readers this sounds like Arthur Dayne, who carried the greatsword Dawn on his back. Arthur Dayne€™s casting is significant evidence that the Tower of Joy will play out on screen next year, which is huge for many reasons (the return of Sean Bean?), most important of which has to do with the parentage of everybody's favourite, recently deceased bastard.
