Game Of Thrones Season 6: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Blood Of My Blood'
2. Benjen's Back
With Meera and Bran obviously in need of some help escaping the wights, I - and many others - suspected and suggested that it would be either Benjen or Coldhands who came to the rescue.
Instead, it wasn't a case of either or, but both, and they're one and the same. The moment ColdJen rides to the rescue is an exciting one in itself, as he does so wielding a fiery mace that tears the wights apart, but even more so for anyone holding onto the slim hope that they would find a way of introducing Coldhands, despite long-since moving past his book arrival.
It's not an exact recreation, of course, as he's still more Benjen than he is anything else, but the return of yet another Stark is another moment to be celebrated. Sure, the details are a little sketchy - the Children saved him in the same way they made White Walkers? Where's he been all this time? - but it's too cool (no pun intended, but I'll take it) a scene to not simply enjoy it.
It's the show's answer to a book mystery (who is Coldhands? Though I still think the books might do something different, especially as GRRM previously said Coldhands isn't Benjen) and also solves the question mark over where Benjen is, while setting things up more for the endgame with the White Walkers, and how important Bran is to everything.
