Game Of Thrones: 10 Worst Things The Starks Have Ever Done

8. Ned Killed Lady

In the first ever episode of Game of Thrones, at the very beginning of the story, the Stark men stumble across a pack of direwolf pups. These creatures hadn't been seen south of the Wall for hundreds of years, they were the sigil of the Stark house, and there was one for each child. Even a runt for the outcast Jon Snow.

All this to say, the Starks were supposed to have these pups. Grey Wind was a fearsome fighter beside Robb on the battlefield, as was Ghost with Jon, and Bran first tapped into his warging abilities in Summer's skin.

Not all of the animals had quite so much time to impact the lives of their adoptive parents, however. After Nymeria attacked Joffrey in defence of her master, Arya sent her away out of fear of the consequences she would face.

In Nymeria's absence, Cersei demanded, and Robert commanded, the death of Sansa's wolf, Lady. Not letting a little thing like innocence get in the way, Ned obeyed his King and slaughtered his daughter's beloved pet. What kind of man could do such a thing?
