Once again it€™s over when it feels like it has just begun. After 10 hours of mystery and intrigue, setup and scheming, twists, turns and major shocks, Game of Thrones has reached the conclusion of its fifth season. It has been another huge season of the show, one typically filled with enough death and misery to fill an entire series of most other hit series'. As usual it started slowly, then like wildfire it suddenly burst into life, and you realise just what the writers have been doing throughout the entire season. There were momentous occasions throughout, ones that had implications not just for the end of this run, but for the entire series end-game. There were White Walkers, dragons, death, weddings, rape, major characters meeting for the first time, more death, and new characters introduced. Oh, and even more death. There was criticism of the show for its pacing through the first few episodes, while the depictions of Sansa€™s rape and Shireen€™s death both gave cause for a lot of complaints. By the end, however, we were once again celebrating that this is the biggest and best show on television.
