Game Of Thrones: 12 Best Moments From Season 5

4. My Name Is Tyrion Lannister

As two of the biggest characters on the show, it seemed inevitable that Tyrion Lannister and Daenerys Targaryen would meet at some point; a question of when, not if. Season 5 went about setting that meeting up, teasing it from the first episode as Varys revealed his plan, and advancing it to a point where the audience expected it was going to happen before the credits rolled on the season finale. It came slightly earlier than anticipated, in episode 7, as Tyrion reveals himself to Daenerys as the gift brought by Jorah Mormont. It€™s a moment that hasn€™t occurred in the books yet, and despite it being extremely brief it was a huge deal. It really paid off the next week, when Tyrion had to prove how he could help Daenerys, and why she should trust him, and in turn she had to prove why she deserved his help. The back-and-forth between the two was witty and sharp, the sort we€™ve come to expect from Peter Dinklage but also raised the game of Emilia Clarke. Tyrion was a gift to Daenerys, and the meeting was definitely a present to the fans.
