Game Of Thrones: 15 Theories Better Than What We Got

4. Jon And Daenerys Sharing The Iron Throne

As said previously, going into season eight, everyone watching was fascinated by how Jon Snow's claim to the throne would affect things. It was one of the biggest question marks hanging over the entire series, and could have completely changed the final outcome of the show.

While some theorised that Jon would use his stronger claim to remove Daenerys from the picture, others believed that Jon and his aunt/girlfriend would continue the tradition of keeping the Targaryen lineage pure, join forces, and rule Westeros together.

There could have been no greater poetic depiction of the Song of Ice and Fire than a Targaryen and a Snow, the mother of dragons and the King in the North coming together to rule the country. This would have made sense for both the character arcs of Jon and Daenerys.

Not only would this have made the Aegon Targaryen reveal worth revealing, it would have completed Daenerys' dream of breaking the wheel, ruling equally with her husband, and righting the wrongs of the Lannisters, Baratheons, and Targaryens before them. This particular theory simply made too much sense to be ignored by fans going into season eight, but the writers instead chose the Mad Queen path, likely the character's end game in the books themselves.
