Game Of Thrones: 15 Theories Better Than What We Got

12. Bran The Dragon

When the Three-Eyed Raven told Bran that, though he would never walk again, he would fly, you would be forgiven for thinking further down the line about the possibility of the young Stark warging into a dragon. We all thought it, and the theory behind it made a lot of sense.

It's well documented that one of the few characters George R. R. Martin had a full story arc in mind for from the start was Bran Stark. His story may have been quite slow and steady to begin with, and he even skipped out on season five entirely, but fans knew that it was building to something big.

Yet what was much theorised never came to pass. Taking into account Bran's arc, his history with the Night King, and his ability to potentially warg into any creature alive, it seemed very likely that the future King of Westeros would at some stage take control of Viserion's body, and thus the Night King's flight path.

Instead however, Bran used his powers more for the time traveling, all-seeing aspect than the physical, mind controlling aspect. It would seem either the Three-Eyed Raven was speaking metaphorically, or was simply referring to the ravens Bran used to scout the Night King. Technically he did use them to fly, it just would have been better to see him as a dragon.
