Game Of Thrones: 20 Awesome Characters Who Were TOTALLY Screwed Over

Just like with many of these characters, Melisandre's (Carice van Houten) arc up until season eight was very good. In particular, the scene at the end of season six in which she was banished was fantastic.

Unfortunately, in season eight, she was just... well, what exactly did she do when she returned for the Battle of Winterfell?

She lit some swords on fire, said some cryptic words to Arya in order to get her to kill the Night King and then walked out into the snow, reverted to her elderly form, and died. That's it.

Aside from her ultimate lack of action, there are two other Big issues. Firstly, the big twist about her actually being an elderly woman in disguise was only mentioned once before her death and never had any bearing on anything and secondly, there are so many damn plot holes.

If she knew that Arya was the subject of the Prince That Was Promised prophecy, then why was she so keen to bring Jon and Daenerys together? Why did she always imply it was one of them so strongly?

What Should've Happened: As will be discussed soon, everything to do with the battle against the White Walkers needed to be fixed. Then, her ending could've been too.
