Game Of Thrones: 20 Awesome Characters Who Were TOTALLY Screwed Over

The show's most beloved character is the brilliant Tyrion Lannister who, thanks to Peter Dinklage's monumental performance and the superb writing that always accompanied him, is arguably the greatest Dwarf character in any medium... or, at the very least, was.

Him ending up as the king's Hand was a fitting end for him, but prior to that his story-lines, post season five, had lost their way.

In season six, he only became active in the later episodes. Before that, he spent most of it getting drunk and dropping one liners rather than actually running Meereen in Daenerys' absence, which is what he was meant to be doing.

Once he was Daenerys' hand in seasons seven and eight, he made a ton of idiotic decisions and still never felt active enough. No wonder Daenerys got so annoyed with him. As well as this, he gave Varys, one of his only friends, up to Daenerys when Varys betrayed her and this should've been a huge moment for him, but it carried no weight at all.

In the season eight premiere, Sansa says to him "I used to think you were the cleverest man alive." That sums it up nicely.

What Should've Happened: His story ending was fine, but he needed to be more active (and smarter) in seasons six and seven. That would've fixed his story.
