Game Of Thrones: 25 Key Details You Need To Know & Remember For Season 8

14. Kill A White Walker, You Kill Its Wights (And How To Do That)

Over the years, we've learned various bits and pieces about the White Walkers, wights, and their weaknesses. In Season 1, we discovered that fire could destroy wights. Season 3 revealed dragonglass would kill a White Walker, with Season 5 then further showing us that Valyrian steel could too.

Season 7, however, made perhaps the biggest change yet: with Jon and co beyond the Wall, the King in the North once again goes up against a White Walker, and this time when he kills it, all the wights around them die as well.

It's a new addition to canon, but an important one if they're going to have any chance of winning the Great War. If they kill the White Walkers, they kill the wights. And if they kill the Night King, then they destroy the entire army of the dead, although that part might be easier said than done. We know the Night King was created by the Children of the Forest, who shoved a dragonglass dagger into his heart, but we know very little of him otherwise, including what might damage him and if the same White Walker rules are applicable.
