5. He Is A Clegane

We can just imagine it, Sandor and Gregor (a.k.a The Hound and The Mountain) go at it, steel-on-steel - one of them look like they're gonner for sure when - SLAM! Hodor jumps in and kills them both. Yea, that's not going to happen, but there are a few hints that Hodor could in fact be a Clegane.
His size for one - the Clegane brothers are insanely big and bulky men, just like our man Hodor. His name - whether it be Hodor or Walder, sounds incredibly similar to that of Sandor and Gregor, and nobody really knows where he came from.
Admittedly, these are terribly weak points and none of it explains why he can only say one thing, but the theory has quite the following, regardless.
Who knows, perhaps Gregor smashed his brain in as a child. He does have a short temper, after all - Sandor is proof of that.
